My Favorite Movies to Watch During Halloween

Jane Taylor

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and a great way to join the festivities, in my opinion, is to watch movies. Here are some of my favorites to get you into the “spirit”.

“The Nightmare Before Christmas” emphasizes staying true to yourself. Jack Skellington tries to help Santa with Christmas but ends up failing miserably. He learns if sticks to his own season he will end up doing a much better job and find love along the way.

“Hocus Pocus” is a classic Halloween movie that you definitely need to watch. It’s made by Disney, so it is family friendly, and is hilarious. The ending of this movie is so good and encompasses how important family is.

“Hubie Halloween” is a newer movie that came out on Netflix last year. It is a Happy Madison production, so you know it is going to be good. Adam Sandler plays Hubie and is the town outcast. By the end of the movie, many minds are changed by Hubie’s acts of courage against many strange things in the town.

“Coraline” is easily the scariest animated movie ever made. It is a great, but horrifying movie, for those of you who are interested in watching it. Coraline finally learns at the end of the movie she can be happy right where she is, but not without a secret door to different parents with button eyes first. This movie is a must-watch, but proceed with caution.

Now that I’ve given you some Halloween movie ideas, you’d better watch at least one! The best watch to spread Halloween cheer, is screaming loud for all to hear! (You like my slight Elf reference?)
