Each year, the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation awards scholarships to high school seniors based on achievement in school and in the community. These students are well rounded, recognized for their commitment to make an impact and for their leadership skills. The Foundation awards 150 seniors with a $20,000 scholarship.

This year, more than 68,000 seniors applied for the scholarship, and three Tilghman seniors have been named semifinalists: Dana Hernandez, Lily Holm and Kate LeBuhn. They are three of the 1,600 seniors that will continue to compete for the 150 available scholarships.

Phase two of the application dives more into the specifics in order to get to know the applicants better. Additional details of leadership, service, involvement and work are required. The semifinalists must also complete writing prompts and obtain a teacher recommendation. Once this is complete, 250 regional finalists will be chosen to continue the selection process.

Hernandez, Holm and LeBuhn showcase exceptional qualities that make them prime candidates for this scholarship. Their drive and passion to create positive change within the school and the community are shown through their involvement in many organizations. These three women are outstanding examples of Paducah Tilghman’s extraordinary students.
