Giving Thanks
November 22, 2021
Tilghman’s African American Leadership Club held a staff appreciation dinner on the night of Nov. 16. Club students selected a staff member they felt they truly appreciated. Students then wrote letters to their staff member thanking them and inviting them to come enjoy the dinner.
At the dinner, students greeted their staff member and led them to the dinner table where they conversed until it was time to commence the dinner. The dinner was catered by local southern-style restaurant, Big Ed’s, and many local parents helped serve the dinners and coordinate the event.
After the staff and students fellowshipped and enjoyed their meals, students then presented their staff member with a gift of appreciation and a short speech on why they chose said staff member.
The event had a really nice turnout and it highlighted some of the amazing staff and role models in Paducah City Schools. It was a night filled with joy and the spirit of coming together. Students spend most of their lives in school, so important that students have those adults that encourage and push them to their full potential. This event allowed those adults to be recognized and thanked for their service. Some may not realize how much they impact students lives, so once again thank you all for your hard work.
