STUDENT COMMENTARY: New Year, Same Masks

STUDENT COMMENTARY: New Year, Same Masks

Coy Booker

2022 is right around the corner! Yep, it’s been two years since Covidzilla hit. We’re all still wearing masks, social distancing and it’s become almost second nature to run when someone coughs! It’s been a crazy two years, and it is not over yet.

Covid has hit us all hard, not only in Paducah, but worldwide. We continue to stick together and take the necessary precautions to keep each other safe. With 2022 approaching it’s necessary to look back and see how we’ve come in our battle against Covid. We’ve created ways for businesses to remain open, schools to remain teaching, and even kept jobs safe for Americans. Our number one accomplishment over the years has got to be our discovery of the vaccine. The Covid vaccine has helped saved countless lives and will save countless more.

Going into the new year, it is crucial that us as students remain consistent with healthy habits and don’t slack off in our safety measures. Although it feels that things are going back to normal, the virus is far from gone and we must act as so. This year please remain cautious of your habits and of those around you. Together we’ll come out on top and healthy!
