NBA’s High Scoring Week

Coy Booker

These past few weeks in the NBA have been full of nothing but buckets! There have been seven 50-point performances within the past 15 days.

Kicking off these 50-point games was none other than LeBron James. James dropped 56 points on March 5 to lead the Lakers to a win over Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors. Not even 24 hours later, Jayson Tatum dropped his own 54-point game against Kevin Durant and the Nets, to continue Boston’s heat streak. Net’s guard Kyrie Irving couldn’t let that stand, handing out his own 50-pointer against Charlotte on March 8. Well LeBron just couldn’t cool down, dropping another 50 bomb against Washington on the March 11.

This week alone we’ve had three 50-point performances, starting with the viper, Kevin Durant. KD was on fire Sunday night. He led Brooklyn to a win over New York, dropping 53 in the Barclays Center. Monday night we saw a 60-point career high performance from KAT. Karl Anthony-Towns led Minnesota in their high scoring win against San Antonio. Finally, Kyrie Irving strikes again! Kyrie dropped his own 60-pointer Tuesday night against Orlando.

It is no coincidence that all of these stars are 2022 NBA All-Stars. The league is becoming more and more elite every single year, with excitement every night. With playoffs approaching, the rest of the NBA season is guaranteed to be a spectacle.
