On Friday, April 22, the Paducah Tilghman Choral Department hosted “A Lovely Night” at the First Baptist Church of Paducah. “A Lovely Night” is an ongoing tradition that serves as a fundraiser for the choir department. Members of the choir sell tickets to this event, which includes a romantic night full of delicious food and beautiful music
This year’s fundraiser was truly a success. Between tickets and the silent auction, the Choral Department was able to raise approximately $4,000.
There were many solo, duo and trio acts, along with performances from both the men’s and women’s choirs, Choralaires (freshman girls’ choir), Prime Rib (men’s acapella group), Concordia (women’s acapella group) and Another Shade of Blue (Prime Rib and Concordia).
The night was opened with a trio by Gloree Nell Woods (12), Gabby Copeland (12) and Danny Preklas (12), singing “A Lovely Night” from the classic movie, “Cinderella.”
Solo acts consisted of performances by CoryOn Brooks (9), Maya Romanak (11), Cidney Bertrand (10), Anna Losher (11), Destiney Dumas (10), Kate Bidwell (11), Kadejah Clark (12), Maci Robinson (12), Mandy Rowton (12), Gabby Copeland (12), Danny Preklas (12), and Gloree Nell Wood (12).
There were also several duo acts from Abby Brown (11) and Kate LeBuhn (12), Weslyn Durfee (10) and Alicia Durfee (11), Addie Franklin (11) and Leon dos Remedios (11), Jensen Knudsen (11) and Alayna Watkins (11), and Alyana Watkins (11) and Amarie Smith (Jr).
