BeReal, a new social media platform, is becoming increasingly popular among teenagers worldwide.

BeReal was founded in 2020 by Alexis Barreyat, a French entrepreneur. This platform is a healthier form of social media because you can’t curate your posts. BeReal notifies users randomly once a day and allows them to post an unedited front and rear camera photo. The app gives you two minutes to post before it is marked “late.” After you post, you are able to react to your other friends’ BeReal posts and see what they are doing. BeReal is a safe form of social media compared to Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok, etc., because it promotes positivity, making teens feel safe in their own skin. This app has the ability to help teenagers struggling with self-worth and anxiety.

Jane Taylor (11), another BeReal user said, “I think BeReal is super fun. When I look back at my memories on the app it makes me happy.”

Coryon Brooks (10) said, “Although BeReal can be a timely burden, it is exciting to watch others and to see what they’re doing and capturing your current moments. Download BeReal, y’all!”

Personally, I think BeReal is an enjoyable platform for teenagers to stay up-to-date with their peers. Other social media platforms have caused tremendous problems among teenagers, but BeReal has the opposite effect. I enjoy scrolling through and reacting to my friends. BeReal has become part of my daily routine, if I don’t have a lot of homework. If you’re bored, download BeReal and explore this trending app.
