PTHS Drama Announces Cast List for Anastasia

Seniors Alayna Watkins and Amarie Smith have been cast in the lead roles for the upcoming play “Anastasia.”

The PTHS Drama Department has just announced their cast for this year’s upcoming play, Anastasia, written by Terrence McNally. based off of the popular Disney movie of the same name, the plot centers around an amnesiac girl named Anya, who is actually the missing Russian royalty Anastasia Romanov, focused on finding her past which she believes is in Paris. This year, the title character’s role goes to Alayna Watkins (12, left), a senior member of the PTHS Choir, and along side her stars Amarie Smith (12, right), another senior member of the PTHS Choir, as Dmitry. When asked about her character, Alayna tells us that she is “determined, loyal, intuitive, and fearless.” Other cast members include Anakin Womble(11) as Vlad, Landon Hinz(9) as Gleb, Anna Losher(12) as the Dowager Empress, and Jensen Knudsen(12) as Lily. Members in the Ensemble cast include Darrel Bass, Jacob Julian(11), Leyton Morris(9), Nathan Franklin(9), Julian Washington, Creighton Wade, Kenya Wade(10), JaNiya Hard, Eliza Esper(9), Katie Irick, Ashlyn Cook, Sarah Hill, Cidney Bertrand, Kennedy Franklin, Addie Franklin(9), Jada Meadows, Cadance Leindecker and Isabelle Gutierrez. The play is scheduled to show from Nov. 18-20.
