One of the most asked questions every day at our school is “What’s for lunch?’’ Students have a lot of control over what they eat for lunch at school. A student can choose to eat a variety of options such as green beans, mashed potatoes, pizza, cheeseburgers, chicken sandwiches, salads and more.

One good thing about our lunch is that its free. Many students really appreciate the hard work the school puts into providing us a healthy lunch. By law the school must provide fruits, vegetables, low-fat or free fat milk, whole grains and lean protein with every meal.

My opinion on the school lunch is moderate. It is moderate because sometimes the school food may be a little cold, or it might taste weird. Mostly our meals are very good.

On Monday, students had a spicy chicken sandwich. The sandwich has a good smell, and the chicken is very well seasoned. The buns, on the other hand, seem a little hard and stale. Another option that was offered was the salad. The salad in my opinion is the best lunch offering. The cafeteria staff prepares the salads themselves. The salad contains lettuce, tomatoes, croutons, eggs, crackers and ranch dressing.

On Tuesday, students had crispitos. Personally, cripitos aren’t a favorite of mine, but students they really seem to enjoy them. Crispitos are made up of beef and cheese.

On Wednesday, students had chicken nuggets. Chicken nuggets are the most well-liked meal of the week. The chicken nuggets are my favorite meal of the week. They have an amazing aroma that fills the hallways leading to the cafeteria. The sides are also very well liked. The sides consist of mashed potatoes, green beans and a delicious soft roll.

On Thursday, students had a cheeseburger. The cheeseburgers are not a favorite of mine. I think the burger itself is very dry and has little taste. The buns are hard and don’t have a good taste. The curly fries that come with it are very good. They are soft and taste amazing.

On Friday, we had another spicy chicken sandwich. They have the chicken sandwiches constantly, and I get a little tired of them. The chicken is way too spicy, but it does taste good.
