Tilghman Vs. McCracken County – Week One

Tilghman+Vs.+McCracken+County+-+Week+One

Tilghman Tornadoes, once again, dominated the field against the McCracken County Mustangs. Tilghman has won this rivalry game in past years 2013, 2015, 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022. This year’s game ended with an outstanding score of 42-7. Tilghman supporters were unsurprised by this amazing win, and all aspects of the fan base had fun.

The Paducah Tilghman Band of Blue showed out and performed original and new songs to amplify the thrill of the first big game. Along with the band, Paducah Tilghman Color Guard danced to many songs and performed outstanding cheers. The Tilghman Cheer Team, led by new coach Djuan Frye, started off the season with many new stunts and cheers for years to come. The Tilghman Pep Club, led by Bella Brown, Jamey Harris, and Jane Taylor, was also fundamental in adding a positive spirit for all in attendance. Pep Club is mainly responsible for the game themes, bringing excitement, and being positive in order to support the Tilghman Tornadoes at any game during the school year. All these extracurriculars were important to ensure the big win.

The students fundamental to the football game, the players, played beautifully as well. Banks LaFont and Josh Campbell both scored two touchdowns with the help of quarterback Jack James. DJ Wilson and Martels Carter Jr. each contributed one touchdown for the team. Shep Esper, the team’s kicker, scored six for six of his total kicks. The Mustangs scored one touchdown made by Cooper Falconite. The Tilghman student section was ecstatic by the win and added a positive spirit for the big football weeks ahead.

Mayfield week is August 28 through 31st with the Mayfield game ending the week on Friday, September 1st when the students have the day off. Be sure to dress up for the themes and support our football program for the second big game! Go PT!
