Soccer Team Senior Night

Soccer+Team+Senior+Night

As this year’s high school soccer season comes to a close, both the men and women’s high school teams honor their seniors on this year’s Senior Night. The seniors on the women’s team include Fiona Caywood, Alex Harris, Jayla Reed, Weslyn Durfee, and Eva Perret. The seniors on the men’s team include Parker Guyette and Jonah Cunningham. Both teams will dearly miss their senior players next year.

Seniors are called one by one and meet their parents with flowers and a ball signed by the team, while their achievements and what they love about soccer is announced. The team rally behind these seniors as they play their last regular season double header. Seniors are honored for their strength and commitment to the team for however long they have played on it.

The women’s team strives to honor a former player and would be current senior, Ellie McKnight, who tragically passed in an ATV accident last year. A representative of the women’s team, Myeshia Smith, presented flowers to Ellie’s parents. Myeshia was a friend of Ellie’s and said a few words about how much Ellie meant to her and what a light she was. Ellie’s presence was heavily missed from the team this year.
