What do you plan on doing after school? Going to College, staying home, or maybe you’re planning on joining the military. If you are planning on going to the military, you should join Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROCT). One of the great things about Paducah Tilghman Highschool is that we’re able to work with The Paducah Innovation Hub and get the classes we need to be prepared for our future careers. They also work together to give students the opportunities to try out different classes that might be interesting to them.

NJROCT will help you to have a different aspect on life and help you be more prepared for the future.  According to Jadin Miller, who is a Petty Officer for her 3rd period class, she believes the program has helped her prepare for any situation she may encounter. She stated that they have taught her to handle things in a more professional manner thus showing leadership skills. Jadin is also on the staff as the first aid director, she also disagrees with the people that claim the program is strict. Jadin expresses that yes, you do have to have discipline, but The Commander and Lieutenant are easy and understanding on some things.

Jadin Miller also claims “ROTC is not hard at all as long as you do what you’re supposed to do. It’s like any other class except you get the freedom to take field trips all the time and If you don’t like PE you could use NJROCT as a PE Credit.

Jadin Miller ~ “Some advice I would tell someone joining is that all you have to do is listen to your higher ups and it’s not as bad as everyone makes it out to be.”

ROTC is not hard at all and I mean at all as long as you do what your supposed to do. It’s like any other clas except you get out of class for field trips all the time and I’d take ROTC over PE any-day (ROTC can also be used as a PE Credit)
