Voting is a way for your voice to be heard even while others are talking. Statewide, in Kentucky 64% of registered voters made their voices heard in 2020. That is barely over half. Many more could be voting and should.

It is imperative to always do your research before voting for a candidate. Today so many things are made to seem much more serious or insane then they really are. Media services exaggerate Storys of people in leadership positions to get more views and more people buying. When you see an article or a video about a candidate that seems way to silly to be real, check it with a trusted place before you cast your votes. Take a look at what policies they have talked about and what those polices would do and how they would affect you. Also take a look at what they have done while in leadership positions. Did you agree with them? Did they better the country and the people? Always keep in mind how they act in public or on social media. How do you expect a president to act, and do they act that way? Always remember to take a look at the vice president as well. Ask the same questions that you asked about the president. What have they talked about while in public, what do they plan on implementing or fighting for.

Voting for someone just because your parent, friend or even a celebrity is, is not YOUR voice being heard. While presidential elections are coming up and everyone is talking about them, remember local elections as well. They are just as important for you and your family’s futures. so, make to register to vote, and do your research! Always remember to vote responsibly!
