Sam Kirchhoff, a senior here at Paducah Tilghman was awarded Paducah Bank’s Teen of the Week for the week of Sept. 7. Paducah Bank’s Teen of the Week award highlights high school seniors in our area every week for their outstanding work throughout their four years at high school. Paducah Tilghman has a long history of many of our seniors winning this award.

Kirchhoff enjoys problem-solving and cannot wait to do this every day as he sees patients in the future. Although Kirchhoff is unsure of which area of medicine he wishes to enter after high school, he is certain that his joy for problem-solving will aide him in his future in medicine.

Kirchhoff has an impressive resume including a 4.0 unweighted GPA as well as being one of the Mayor’s interns. While Kirchhoff doesn’t plan on going into politics or law, he said that being the mayor’s intern helped him to gain a better understanding of everything the mayor is responsible throughout the city.

Kirchhoff is also very active in extra-curricular activities here at Paducah Tilghman. Kirchhoff is involved with clubs such as Beta Club, National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, Rotary Interact Club and Mock Trail, as well as being a sixyear member of the Varsity Tennis Team.

In Kirchhoff’s little spare time he works at his family business Kirchhoff’s Bakery & Deli. Overall Kirchhoff’s achievements at school and within the community speak for themselves. I was pleasantly surprised to be awarded this and was honored not only to be the first from Tilghman but also the first of the year,” Kirchhoff said.
