Start Making Plans for the Perfect Date Night

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and that means less time to figure out what you’re going to do for your significant other! If you’re like me, you aren’t very good at giving gifts. Lucky for you, it doesn’t always have to be about the gifts. By planning a date for your boyfriend or girlfriend, it will enhance your love for them and let them know how much they are appreciated. Below is a list of nine date ideas not just for valentine’s day but for any day.

  • Go to your local bookstore. Are you and your significant other total bookworms? If so you should head over to your favorite local bookstore and spend time picking out a book for your special person to read. A good tip would be to pick out a romance novel that way you and your partner can go through and take turns reading your favorite passages.
  • Work out together. Make sure to raise those endorphins by getting involved in some outdoor exercise. By doing that you and your partner are sure to feel better about yourselves and maintain that healthy lifestyle you both deserve.
  • Plan a boardgame date. Put on your coziest pajamas, make sure to grab plenty of snacks, get your favorite soda or some hot chocolate, and play your favorite board games. It makes it a fun way to pass time and it allows both of you to have a carefree night.
  • Go on a hike. Put on your warmest coat and most comfortable boots and hit the hills. You’re guaranteed to see beautiful scenery and have the chance to have a deep and meaningful conversation without any distractions. If you feel like it, you can even pack a lunch and set up the perfect picnic.
  • Take a painting class. Even if you don’t have those art skills, you can still take advantage of a fun activity. Studies have even shown that when couples do activities like this, their bodies release more oxytocin.
  • Use an app to stargaze. Put on your warmest winter coat, bust out a blanket and take some time to admire the universe with the help of the night sky app which will show you different constellations and planets you’re looking at.
  • Go ice skating. The Opry Mills hotel in Nashville offers ice skating for cheap prices. Take your significant other on a getaway trip to Tennessee and take advantage. It’s good to try something out of your comfort zone.
  • Have a karaoke night. Even though karaoke might make some feel self-conscious, it’s a great bonding experience. It creates a good laugh and can give your date a little spunk to guarantee a great night for both.
  • Go camping in your backyard. If you have a spacious backyard, take advantage! Consider turning your backyard into your own personal campsite. Just hang some string lights, grab some warm blankets, fill some mugs with a hot drink of choice and make sure to build a fire pit to keep warm. With all of that you will have the perfect at-home getaway. Don’t forget the smore’s!

These nine tips and tricks are sure to keep your relationship fresh and fun and also guaranteed to create that perfect valentine’s day date.
