Ms. Moore is starting her 3rd year here with us at Paducah Tilghman High School. She started as the Dean of Students Secretary for Former Dean, Shonda Hollowell, the new Chief Equity Officer for the Paducah Public School District. She is the Integrated Science Teacher. Her class mainly consists of Freshmen and Sophomores; however, she tends to have Juniors sometimes, too.
Ms. Moore is a PT Alumni, and she comes to school excited every day as teaching in the same halls she went to school in. She is grateful to teach here and have her former teachers as her now colleagues. She always has known she wanted to teach but never had a real motive to go get the credentials. However, thanks to Ms. Hollowell, and her motivation, she went to Murray State and received her Bachelor of Science in Integrated Science.
Like stated previously, Ms. Shonda Hollowell was her motivation to get her certification. That said, that’s who Ms. Moore recognizes as her educational influence. “She is a huge mentor to me and someone that I look up to as she has always pushed me to be better.”- Ms. Moore. She always knew she has wanted to be a teacher, but when she thought about what to teach, nothing other than Science crossed her mind. She loves Science. “I like the broad subject, and I like that it’s relatable to everyday life so kids can learn to everyday life.” Ms. Moore lives in Paducah with her 2 kids. She is proud to be in her roots where she grew up.
After talking to a few students, she is well-known to be plenty of students’ favorite teacher. We are proud to have Ms. Moore apart of our faculty and serve as a mentor and influence for our students. Thank you, Ms. Moore!
