Tyler the Creator

Are you a music fan? if so, you have most likely heard that recently on October 28, 2024, a music artist known as Tyler, the Creator dropped an album known as “Chromakopia”. The album is trending on Tik Tok and other social media platforms for its representation of his personal growth, an enormous experience of color, seeing the world in an authentic way, and the human experience. The album also features well known artist such as Lil Wayne, GloRilla, Sexyy Red, Childish Gambino, Daniel Caesar, Teezo Touchdown, Schoolboy Q and Doechii. His album breaks down themes of generational wisdom passed down through his family and much of the youth feels seen through these songs relating to LGBTQ, mental health, femineity, and black culture. Many fans believe this is Tylers way to expand passed exclusively rapping as he stated “I hate rapping only because it puts you in this box” he also expressed being hesitant to do interviews as he did not want to be asked things only rappers are asked even if the interviewer did not realize their biases. He believes rappers are seen and treated differently than other song writers and artists. He also stated “I’m talented enough to do other things, in the future I want to do films, I want people to mention my name next to Wes Anderson or Quentin Tarantino. I don’t want my name to be mentioned next to other rappers” His new album speaking out about the youths’ issues and generational advice and opinions is an amazing way to get a message across and further expand his audience to people who not only enjoy his music but actively understand it. Tyler also speaks about his own issues like in his song “like him” about his father not being a part of his life, this helps fans further understand him and even relate to him. This album is the most vulnerable Tyler has been on any of his albums, and his fans seem to better understand him and his music, as he explains real situations and understandable feelings.  You can expect many real-life issues and hard topics with this album. And with that said it makes fans wonder, what is the next step for Tyler, and what can we expect from him in the coming years?
