Royal Oak, MI – A 26-year-old Canton woman has pleaded guilty to multiple felony charges after a police chase that ended with her crashing into a Royal Oak store multiple times, authorities said. Katrina Deann-Renee Patterson faces charges including fleeing police, assaulting officers, and malicious destruction of property and a building.

Police Chase and Store Crash

The incident occurred shortly before 1 a.m. on Nov. 9, 2025, near W Fourth Street and S Center Street. Police were called to investigate a report of a vehicle driving on train tracks. Officers found Patterson at the scene, but she refused to cooperate.

Authorities noted that one of the car’s tires appeared flat, and they observed an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle. When asked for her driver’s license, Patterson allegedly fled northbound on Washington Avenue, prompting a police pursuit.

The chase continued west on Farnum Avenue to Oakridge Avenue, ending in an alley parallel to northbound Woodward Avenue. It was there that Patterson drove into an Ulta Beauty store. Surveillance video later showed Patterson repeatedly backing up and crashing through the store, at one point ramming a police vehicle.

Arrest and Investigation

Patterson was arrested at the scene. A male passenger in the car was also detained but later released with a citation for having open alcohol in a motor vehicle. Police indicated that Patterson was suspected of driving under the influence, noting a prior conviction for operating while intoxicated in 2023 in Port Huron.

Guilty Plea and Sentencing

On Jan. 20, 2026, Patterson pleaded guilty to all charges. She is scheduled for sentencing on March 10 at 8:30 a.m..
